Phone number or provider information fields do not populate in BlackBerry Manager

Ok, this is blatant thievery from KB15871, but I've seen this a few times recently and figured it was worth noting.
Unfortunately, there isn't an automated way to do this from the BES ... The posted resolution is:
<content> To resolve this issue, delete and undelete the Desktop [SYNC] service book on the BlackBerry smartphone. Have each BlackBerry smartphone user complete the following steps:
To do this from the handheld: Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card > (Press Menu Key) Edit SIM Phone Number > Enter in Phone Number if it doesn't already exist
Now you should get the information populated

- Go to Options> Advanced Options> Service Book and highlight Desktop [SYNC].
- Press the Menu key and select Delete.
- Press the Menu key and select Undelete.
- Go to Options> Advanced Options> Host Routing table and press the Menu key.
- Select Register now, and click the trackball or trackwheel.
To do this from the handheld: Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card > (Press Menu Key) Edit SIM Phone Number > Enter in Phone Number if it doesn't already exist
Now you should get the information populated
