BlackBerry icon beside the 3G network indicator will not reappear after powering off

RIM posted a KB titled: BlackBerry icon beside the 3G network indicator will not reappear after powering off ... I currently have a 9700 on at&t with this OS version and don't have the problem described.

Apparently the 3GBB logo - doesn't show up after a restart of the device.

That said, I'd avoid 5.0.0.442 from Fastlink Jordan like the plague. I installed it, and couldn't get the device to properly...

Brian Desmond (yup, you guess it ... another brilliant Microsoft Exchange MVP) posted about a new feature / function of Exchange 2010 called Client Throttling Policies and how it impacts a BES. I'd HIGHLY recommend giving this a read.

Simon Butler is a brilliant Microsoft Exchange Server MVP ... check out his post on getting BES 4.1 to work with Exchange 2010.

That said, if you're on Exchange 2010 why haven't you upgraded to BES 5.0 yet?

Suppressing read receipts

Continuing on with another registry tweak ... here's a way to control whether users can send read receipt messages from their BlackBerry handhelds. Personally, I hate read receipts and would block them at the transport layer, but if you allow them and just want to prevent them from coming a la BlackBerry here's the way to do it.

Hey folks ... I'm back for regular posting now

Given that today is the 1 year anniversary of Port3101 I figured I'd start back.

Life / etc took a front seat and now I've got that juggling act a little bit better under control.

Anyhoo, for my first post back I'll reference something previously mentioned; Managing your BES / Exchange Mappings.

As of BES 4.1 SP4 you've had the ability to control the number of user accounts that the BlackBerry...
