Moving from Exchange Server 5.5 to 2007!!

I wanted to bring your attention to a RIM KB article that Mr. E posted up a week ago - how to migrate from Exchange Server 5.5 to 2007 (with hopefully minimal impact on BES).

I was chatting with a client a week ago who is going through a big network upgrade. It started with a need to move from BES 4.0 to 5.0 as users are looking for the ability to access network files and folders, which we all know BES 5.0 accommodates (or at least will accommodate when handheld code 5.0 launches). The client in question still runs Exchange Server 5.5 and so their upgrades will need to factor in Exchange as well as BES. I've had a few people move from Exchange 2003 to 2007, but this was the first conversation I'd had where someone needed to go from 5.5 to 2007.

I'm guessing there are a few Exchange dinosaurs out there that will need to make that step up soon - let’s face it, support for Exchange 5.5 ended 31st December 2003 and those who paid for extended support had it until 31st December 2005! I thought it was a topic worth highlighting as there will be a few moves from 5.5 to 2007 where BES 5.0 will have been (or will be) the catalyst for such a move.
